Ian Hodges presenting at Museum of the Riverina

Kangaroo MarchGroup bookings more than welcome for a FREE talk at the Museum of the Riverina’s Botanic Gardens site on Saturday, 8 November, 10:30am.

Between 1915 and 1919 hundreds of Wagga men who had served in the Great War came home. Many who arrived before the Armistice bore obvious and debilitating wounds, but none who had been in the AIF were unaffected by their experience. In the lead up to Remembrance Day, this free talk presented by Ian Hodges, Historian for the Department of Veterans Affairs, will explore how Wagga’s returned soldiers made their way back into community life, and how they were regarded by people who had not been to the war.

If you’d like to attend this free public lecture, please RSVP to museum@wagga.nsw.gov.au or contact the Museum on 6926 9655 to reserve your place.
