The Wesleyan Methodist Church was built in 1877 on the corner of Johnston and Fitzmaurice streets. The building was replaced by the current Wesley church opened on the corner of Johnston and Tarcutta streets in 1949.

Peter Brown, well known local insurance broker and member and benefactor of the Wagga Wagga and District Historical Society was photographed by the Daily Advertiser at the Wagga High School Prefects Ball in August 1966.

Great Southern Motors in Baylis Street
World War I Flying Corps veteran, “Hughie” Condon established Great Southern Motors in 1923. It is clearly visible on the left in this picture of Baylis Street taken in the 1930s.
