Wagga’s new Civic Administration Centre
This Wagga Wagga Civic Administration Centre was built adjacent to the historic Council Chambers in 1967 and demolished in 1999 to be replaced by the present day civic centre.

Baylis Street, looking north in the early 1960s. Carmody’s Royal Hotel which closed on 23rd December 1978 and other buildings on the right were demolished to make way for the Sturt Mall which was opened on the 12 November 1979 at a cost of A$24 million.

Wagga’s Pioneer of Restorative Justice
25 years ago Sergeant Terry O’Connell was featured in the Daily Advertiser outlining an initiative of the recently formed “Wagga Beat Police” to visit all Year 9 students in Wagga.
