Teachers College TaylorWagga Teachers College in the 1950’s. Wagga Teachers College commenced in July 1947 at the former site of No.1 RAAF Hospital near the Showgrounds. By 1955 280 students had enrolled and by 1961 there were 415 students with accommodation on site for 350 students. In 1971 the teachers college became part of the Riverina College of Advanced Education, later the Riverina Murray Institute of Higher Education and then in 1989 Charles Sturt University.
