  • A group of history students at the Riverina College of Advanced Education who are studying the history of North Wagga were taken on an excursion of the area by Keith Swan, Dean of the School of Business and Liberal Studies along with North Wagga Residents Group officials, Mr R G Hartwig and Albert Burgman.

  • Wagga Leagues Club presented new school football jumpers to representatives of Trinity and Wagga High Schools.
  • Wagga Mayor, Alderman Gorman said that a significant increase in workers compensation costs at the Wagga abattoir were a grave threat to the stability of the operation and a crippling blow to the farming community and meat consumers.
  • A twelve-hour radiothon conducted by seven Riverina Lions Clubs and Radio Station 2WG raised $14,662 for the Lions Club Cancer Treatment Fund.
  • Wagga artist, Hazel Loch is exhibiting 70 of her oil paintings at the Wagga City Art Gallery in aid of the Wagga Auxiliary of the N.S.W. Society for crippled children.
