- Community Princess, Petroulla Artemiou and Miss Wagga 2000, Sidony Menz, are pictured at Wagga Airport preparing to take off on a six-week tour of Germany which will include Wagga’s sister city of Nordlingen.

- A Foodway supermarket, operated by Ian and Joanne Lloyd and Rod and Debbie Porter, has opened at the Lake Village Shopping Centre.

- The 80th Wagga Eisteddfod which will attract a range of entrants in dance, speech, highland and music sessions was opened this week by Wagga Mayor, Kevin Wales and will run through until 10th September.

- Yvonne O’Connor School of Dance six-year-old performers Majella Davis, Danielle Winslett, Skye Johnson and Catlin Rudd are pictured with dance examiner, Robin Hick at the City of Wagga Eisteddfod.

- President of Wagga Multiple Birth Association, Jenny Nixon and Kath Moloney is pictured cutting a cake to celebrate the Association’s 21st birthday.

- Wiradjuri elders, Isobel Reid, Yvonne Gilchrist, Elvira Weighton and Bob Glanville visited Forest Hill School to run workshops, on language, culture, traditional games, storytelling and food.

- The Riverina Institute of TAFE’s award-winning tourism and technology centre in Wagga, was opened this week by managing director of TAFE, Dr Ken Boston.

- Local climbers Anne Johnson, James Lonergan and Gabby Hammond claimed top places at the bouldering championships held at Vertical Reality in Wagga.

- Wagga Mayor, Kevin Wales, defended the need to include a hydrotherapy pool as part of Wagga’s multi-million-dollar aquatic centre.

- Fletcher Jones will soon make a long-awaited comeback to Wagga with Albury franchisee, Tim Farrah considering it a perfect opportunity to expand the franchise following Wagga’s main street upgrade.
- The annual Service of Commemoration of the Battle for Australia will be held this Sunday at Saint Pauls Anglican Church.
- Riverina residents are bracing themselves for the closure of the Wagga Ambulance control centre with all emergency calls being centralised in Wollongong.
- A decision by Wagga City Council to grant more than $250,000 for infrastructure improvements at the Equex Centre was welcomed by Garry Hiscock, Vice-chairman of the Equex management committee.
- Bendigo Bank will be opening in the former Cash Converters Building and is currently seeking staff including a customer service supervisor and customer service officers.
- Property manager, Robyn Richards, said that Bunnings have put a Wagga move on the backburner citing difficulties locating a good site.

- Minister for Transport and Highways, Wal Fife, Divisional Engineer for the Department of Main Roads, Ron Dubedat and City Engineer, Colin Knott surveyed, from the air, the site of a proposed new flood free bridge beginning at the intersection of Coolamon and Junee Roads and ending at the intersection of Travers and Moorong Streets.

- Plans for the second stage of the Riverina Australian Rules Club, now under construction, to cost $250,000, were approved by the Wagga Licensing Court.

- Two hundred “Penguins” from all parts of N.S.W. attended the first country State Conference of Penguin Clubs of Australia at the Wagga Agricultural College.

- Miss Australia entrant, Wendy Lloyd, earnt a $500 commission securing advertising for a Community Directory being published by Wagga City Library. She is pictured with Wagga Librarian, Duncan Marshall and Alderman Charles Houen.

- In their quest for Duke of Edinburgh awards, Penny Forndram, Belinda Foster and Helen Strettan will cycle 200 kilometres to Yerong Creek and Henty as one of their award exercises.

- Mrs Lynda Lucas received her life membership badge from president of the Riverina Group of C.W.A. Mrs R Lashbrook.

- Brother and sister twins, Mary Anne and John Sydenham celebrated their 21st birthday with a combined party at the Australian Rules Club.

- Almost 100 cars were banked up on either side of the Hampden Bridge while cattle crossed the bridge headed for the saleyards in Travers Street.

- Wagga Commercial Bowling Club president, Bill Payne is pictured with three of the finalists in the Wagga and District Bowling Association 1975 State singles, Chris Pini, David McLay and Norm Chant.

- Mates Wagga Store has been sold to J B Young Holding Ltd along with six other stores in Canberra, Nowra, Queanbeyan, Young, Woden and Goulburn.
- The Wagga chairman of Legacy Appeals Mr B J Treloar advised that Legacy competition tickets are being sold by members of the Legacy ladies auxiliary and that Legacy Appeals week will culminate in Badge Day on Friday.
- A record crowd of more than 2,500 attended the Coolamon Show.
- A competition will be held by the steering committee of Wagga’s Australia Day Celebrations in 1976 to name Wagga’s new suburb north of the Murrumbidgee River and the streets within it.
- Mike Chamberlain has been elected as the new president of Wagga Beranghi Association of Masons.
- Wagga based W G Huthwaite group of companies announced a record profit of $222,989 for the year ending June 1975.
